The call volume into our office from parents, managers, coaches, and scouts, is overwhelming at times. In order better help you, here are some FAQ and the answers to them.  We will do our best to update this list on a regular basis.  If your question is not listed below, do not hesitate to email us.

Why should I register to play in this tournament?

This tournament is a great opportunity to compete against top players.  OneHockey has attracted some of the best teams and players from over fifteen countries.  Scouts from various levels of hockey including Junior, University, and Prep will also be in attendance at the older levels.

How does my son/daughter get placed on a team?
The process to earn a roster spot is thorough.  Players can be evaluated and invited by a member of our scouting staff to be placed on a OneHockey team roster at any of the following events:  Camps, Training Centers, tournaments where OneHockey scout(s) are in attendance.

Can I participate if I have not been evaluated by a scout?

Yes, players can send in a resume by clicking on “Apply as a player” on the OneHockey website.  Sending in a resume does not guarantee the player a spot on a team.  OneHockey staff will contact current coaches for evaluations on the player.  A staff member may also ask the player to send in video of a recent game.  Once approved, a OneHockey staff member will contact you via phone or email.

What if my son/daughter is selected to a team?  What are the steps for registration?

Selected players will receive a congratulations email and official invitation via email.

Step 1:  Click on the link to register in the invitation.

Step 2:  Create Account.

Step 3:  Submit Payment.

Step 4:  Application Complete.

I’m having trouble completing my son/daughters registration.  Who can I contact for help?

Please contact Shaun at shaun.lund@onehockeyevents.com or 888-784-6444 ext 113.

Now that my son/daughter is registered, what do I do?

Your team manager will contact you with information on how and when to book hotel, team gatherings, etc.  To see who the team manager is for your team check the website (www.onehockey.com).  If you do not see a team manager listed for your team and you are interested in becoming the team’s manager, contact Michelle at michelleh@onehockey.com.

My player is to receive a uniform which includes jersey, pant shell, and socks.  How do I turn in sizing information and number on the jersey?

As much as we would like to gather and order specific sizes and numbers for players, the number of players and teams in our tournaments makes this impossible.  We order a standard size set per birth year.  Numbers on jerseys are typically 2-16 for players and 1, 31 for goalies.

How many players do you carry on a roster?
Our standard roster for a tournament is 17 players (2G, 6D, 9F).  Independent teams may choose to bring up to 20 players.

Who are the coaches?
Our tournament coaches are current and former players who played at the Junior, College or professional levels.

Can I register a team?

Yes, complete the team application form (Apply as a team) and make the deposit required to reserve a spot at our Pennsylvania tournament.  The British Columbia and Massachusetts events are not open to full teams. We form regional teams for these events.

If the head coach has more than one team, can scheduling arrangements be made?

We understand there can be conflicts that may hinder some coaches with multiple teams.  Although we cannot guarantee all requests, we will make every attempt possible to coordinate games.

When is the schedule released?

The schedule will be released at least 3 weeks prior to the event.

Will the schedule change?

We make every attempt not to make changes to the schedule once released; however, sometimes things happen that are out of our control and changes are made.  It is important to check the website (www.onehockey.com) frequently for updates.  We also try to email changes to team managers and coaches.

What hotel should we book at?

All accepted players and teams must stay in authorized tournament hotels.  All hotels are in close proximity to arenas, restaurants, shopping malls and other area attractions.  The team’s manager will email all team members hotel information within four month of the tournament.

What do I do when I get to the tournament?

Your team manager will handle will check in procedures.  Specific information will be given to the manager at the time of check in.  In addition, each manager will pick player uniforms and player gifts.

Will there be a photographer for the tournament?
